Arguments between Katie and Joseph are so regular that I tend to tune out most of the time, Sunday's however, had me intrigued.  It involved a visit to B&Q and an ipod touch...

"No, it was my go" shouted Katie
"I told you I was having a go after you died" replied Joseph - in his not so dulcet voice.
"I hadn't finshed it properly" Katie was quite adamant now
"Yes, yes you had.  I had to press the start button again"
"Nope, it was in remuse mode..."  This is what grabbed my attention. Remuse mode?
"Pardon, what is 'remuse' mode?" I asked
"You know Mum, remuse mode" Katie explained  "You get it on games"
"Errm, no.  I'm confused now" Joseph tried to help.. "It's when you get that arrow thingy ...."
".. and two black lines" finished Katie "R E M U S E - remuse"

Oh blimey - I realised what she meant and started to giggle.

"It's not funny Mum, it was my go cos I put it in remuse when I got out of the car - now he's grabbed it and it's still. My. Flippin'. Go!"

"The word you are looking for is resume."  I said calmly  "It means to carry on or continue from where you left off.  R E S U M E."

"Oh" said Katie "Resume?  Well, it's still my go ....." and promptly grabbed the ipod back from Joseph.

I may have helped correct the word, but I couldn't help relovse the argument... !

******

relovse - geddit?  resolve...

It is hilarious and provides me with oodles of ideas for blog posts. Joseph asked me this morning if I knew what BS stood for. After nearly choking on my coffe, he explained it was short for 'boots'. It turns out he was writing me a note !!
